Settled in the heart of the region on the banks of the river Duero (Ribera del Duero), our winery has been producing wines for more than fifty years, namely since 1957. The bodega has always had two main objectives during its long existence: on the one hand keeping the traditional vine cultivation in our town and on the other hand offering our customers a high quality product. Within our possibilities, no means were spared in order to achieve these objectives. Currently we count with both the facilities and the technical personnel which allow us to produce high quality wines endorsed by the Denominación Ribera del Duero (the Ribera del Duero Apellation (1) ). In addition, we propose to offer quality at a reasonable and competitive price. (1) - Denominación de orígen: a Spanish controlled appellation and the mainstay of Spain’s wine quality control system. Each region awarded DO status is governed by a Consejo Regulador made up of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and vine-growers, wine-makers, and merchants who earn their livelihoods in the region. The Consejo, in conjunction with the regional government and the INDO (Instituto Nacional de Denominaciones de Origen, the Spanish equivalent of France’s INAO) in Madrid decides on the boundaries of the region, permitted vine varieties, maximum yields, limits of alcoholic strength, and any other limitations pertaining to the zone. Back labels or neck seals are granted by the Consejo to certify that a wine meets the standards laid out in the DO regulations. )
